    Hi everyone

I would love to get this group moving soon.  We have had increased engagement online sharing resources and resolutions, some of which we should be capturing and saving.

I would love to schedule our first meeting next week on Thursday, August 24th at Noon Pacific/3pm Eastern.

Please confirm your availability and I will get this schedule and a Zoom invitation sent right away.  Thanks!

How do I migrate KnowledgeSync to another server?

    1) Obtain the license for the new server. Open a ticket on the KnowledgeSync web site and request a new license by providing the new server name.

    2) KnowledgeSync will not run on another server without a new license.
YOUR KNOWLEDGESYNC INSTALLATION WILL NOT OPERATE WITHOUT A NEW LICENSE.

    3) Install KnowledgeSync onto the New Server.

    IMPORTANT:
You must make sure the installation is in the same location because the Report and Script definitions are stored in the Data folder.

So if your Old Server had KnowledgeSync loaded on the "C:" drive and your and New Server has KnowledgeSync loaded on the "D:" drive , then the Reports on the New Server will fail with 'unable to locate C:\yourreportfile.rpt'

You will have to change all of your Report Definitions manually if you wish to install to a different disk and folder location. To do this, open each Report Definition and Basic Script definition and press the Browse button and locate the file at the new location. Then press Save/Close.

It is better to install on the SAME DRIVE as the Old Server.

    4) On your New Server delete the following folders from then copy the same folders from the old server to the new one.

    Ex. C:\USERS\PUBLIC\KNOWLEDGESYNC
    Attachments
    Data
    Fax
    Reports
    Scripts

    5) Open the Event Manager

5a) You will then be prompted for your new KnowledgeSync License Key.
    Enter it.

Enter the Log On Information for the KnowledgeSync Windows service.
Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services >> KnowledgeSync (Right Click)
    Properties
    Log On

5b) If you are running the KnowledgeSync SQL Backend, you will need to run the "Reset Database Location"
Start >> Programs >> Vineyardsoft KnowledgeSync >> "Reset Database Location"

If using Exchange Email type, then make sure to install OUTLOOK and CDO and configure a Profile while logged in as the Username running the KnowledgeSync Windows service.
    Control Panel
    Administrative Tools
    Services
    KnowledgeSync (Right Click)
    Properties
    Log on
