So it looks like starting in SAGE 100 STD v2017, when you use the Key File Rebuild Utility the system creates a backup file and adds ABCMMDDYYxxxxxxxx.OLD to the end of the file name. This backup file is created before the Utility runs and that's a good thing. ABC = USER Code. It also looks like if you perform the Key File Rebuild Utility multiple times a new backup file with ABCMMDDYYxxxxxxx.OLD is saved.
If you are working with large Customer History files or Inventory Transaction files, you can chew up some significant server disk space. Good way to quickly get the attention of an IT technician monitoring the server..
Is there a setting in SAGE 100 STD to limit the number of backup copies saved from using the Key File Rebuild Utility? Is there a tool in SAGE to delete these files *.OLD when the data corruption problem is solved and to regain the server disk space?

Nothing in Sage.  I think I remember some batch files to do this posted in 90-Minds previously, but I just do it manually.

@RobertWood posted a very nice CleanTemps.bat a long time ago. It would suit this purpose very well.

@Alnoor Cassim - Great memory!!!  Change the extension to bat to run..  The file date on the BAT file is 6/12/2012.  An oldie but goodie!  Thanks @Robert Wood

That was one of those late Saturday night team efforts.

It also cleans out old worktables that didn't get deleted properly

Sounds like an idea for the MOD squad.  Need to talk it up today.  I would like to see a mod squad community where members can post suggestion which would give the Mod Members a sense of what quick wins are important to the group.  I would love a utility to clear zero quantity cost ties that have value hanging ......

If we're drifting to ideas for the MOD Squad, I'd suggest UDF decimal precision be increased beyond 3.

That's not exactly how the Mod Squad works.

They take low hanging fruit issues and design a recommended solution for Sage to then implement. They harvest the issues from the 90 Minds community.

@Lourdes Sobrino if I recall correctly, that never got developed. It was discussed and tinkered with but I don't think anything happened with it. Maybe @Alnoor Cassim or @Marcos DeLuna remembers better than I do since they were part of that conversation.

But what ARE the low hanging fruit issues @Robert Wood?  Are they just things that this select group thinks about?  Does the group actually have to do the leg work for Sage and code the solution for them.  Why not have a community where the membership can add their two cents for issues?  Others can then post comment which would give the Squad a sense of importance.  FWIW, a couple of the recent ideas implemented weren't even on the radar for my clients.  They were good ideas.  But I digress from the root thought of the thread.  And yes, @Wayne Schulz - It is the idea web site with a different coat of paint.

I logged into the Ideas site the other day and looked through that list. There was a feature I was looking for.

@Jeff Schwenk so far, the Mod Squad has had plenty to filter through. And for now, at least, the Mod Squad has requested we not open up a community for suggestions. If you have a favorite member of the Mod Squad, send them your suggestions.
