Just took a call from an existing user who ""just bought Sage 100"" .. looking for a consultant to help setup, etc ... half way into the pitch it was apparent when she referred to the product by saying ""I've worked with MIP before"" ... whoever chose to name entirely different code bases with the same number made an unwise choice in my opinion.

Exactly the same happened to me at Summit during one of the lunches. 50% of the way in ""we have used other fund accounting packages besides Sage 100 too"". At a evening get together a few months ago with some Sage people there I told that story and the other one with Sage 300 vernacular being interchanged with Accpac and Timberline at Summit. Apparently they kind of know about the confusion and silently agree.
