Just received this email.... in Sage Sell newsletter You asked and we listened! The Sage 100 perpetual license solution will still be available at list price only (no discounts) for you to use at your discretion to bring recently deactivated customers back on plan if the customer does not want to participate in the Sage 100c offer. A recently deactivated customer is defined as customers who are on a release that is current or no more than two years back. Prospects (new customers) or those coming back on plan from an older release should be offered Sage 100c (subscription offering).

I didn't ask Sage for this.

Why on earth can't Sage just make a clean break? If subscription pricing is such a groundbreaking and awesome customer benefit then why keep flip flopping ?

And the promotion that was never going to be repeated again .... (wait for it, wait for it) ... is repeated ... again... Extended through Q2! Sage 100 and 300 on-plan customers can upgrade to Sage 100c or Sage 300c for no more than our current business care plan**prices will be extended until March 31, 2017**giving partners additional opportunity to accelerate the adoption of Sage 100c or Sage 300c.

If you back track on the perpetual licensing, you'll backtrack on the discounting. Who is going to tell a customer they have to repurchase the software at list price?

The tier credit of $1,000 is only if you send the order in by 12/31, but the offer says 12/31/2017! Monkeys could do better at this.

This whole switch-over is such a nightmare! Many of my clients didn't buy payroll because they didn't ""receive the memo"". Time for upgrades and no payroll to install! It's taking me months to get one on payroll, and so many left to go. They lost a LOT of revenue stream by the two divisions not speaking to each other. Now they are trying to punish the clients for their lack of communication! I haven't been on in a while but I'm sure that I'm not the only one dealing with this. I asked them when a client of 20+ years doesn't buy payroll, I would think it would have warranted a call considering this is a major change for Sage! Sad...

Just when you are about to let Sage take over the hand holding of business care renewals, they pull a bonehead move like this. I continue to work very closely with my business care account manager on all of my customer renewals. While time consuming and seemingly unnecessary, it saves a LOT of grief.

I have tried but they have switched my managers several times over this year. The last fill-in guy I had told me he didn't have time to handle this and I will just have to wait until the new manager takes over. I'm still shaking my head over this mess. My new manager started nearly three weeks ago and still hasn't returned my calls or emails! I literally have been trying to get one client payroll since September! They have paid and I also had to fax their order form, payment authorization form and email it three times and had to resend it again on Monday (x4) and am still waiting...

Wow, I hope I never lose my manager..... Have you signed up for MOTM2017 yet? Sage will be attending. Perhaps Jim W will acquire some ripe fruit to sell prior to their sessions. Should be fun! Attending will give you an opportunity to ""discuss"" these issues with them.

There are good, knowledgeable people in middle management, at least the ones I deal with, but upper management at Sage is making decisions in a vacuum with little or no direct knowledge about our challenges when dealing with customers and Sage. The c products and Payroll have been a fiasco to say the least, and the migration ""promotions"" and other actions (or in most cases inactions) have been a failure. We would be better off if we just gave management a giant dart board for dealing with policies and procedures. One would think the BPAC would have some influence, but it has not, and Sage is just going through the motions to make it appear they are listening to us. In those meetings they tell us what they are doing and do very little listening. And I have always thought I was one of the positive partners . . .
