Sage 100

Just noticed the new names for 90 vs 200 vs SQL ... Standard vs Advanced vs Premium. Sage ERP MAS 90 (Becoming Sage 100 Standard ERP) Sage ERP MAS 200 (Becoming Sage 100 Advanced ERP) Sage ERP MAS 200 SQL (Becoming Sage 100 Premium ERP)

Confusing!

Why don't they call MAS200 Sage 100 Client Server ERP and MAS 200 SQL should be Sage 100 SQL ERP. What's so hard about that.

Are you trying to get actual information from a marketing department? :-)

Because then the marketing department would have to be let go before the next rebranding in two years.

Umm Louis you do realize if they did it right the first time then half or more of the marketing department would not be needed for the next rebranding.

Looks like the idea came to someone as they were filling their car at the gas station. Who doesn't think Premium is better? I would think that that Premium would include Mfg modules and payroll? That will require explaining to customers that they can't buy Premium because they need Job Cost.

Premium is usually better than Advanced except when Premium includes less modules than Advanced. That's going to be confusing.

I say we call it hi-test... :)

@RobertWood raised a good point in convo's at MotM - ""Premium"" is really a bad word to use when naming products - it can raise negative connotations very quickly. ""You pay a premium for that"" They should have chosen more neutral or positive leaning words.

EVen better why not just leave it as 90 and call it Sage 90 File Server ERP, Sage 90 C/S ERP and Sage 90 SQL ERP, you know so people could somehow understand the difference without having to ask. And yes they should have thrown ""Hi-Test"" in there.

@LouisAraiza - Those names are kind of technical in nature and the average customer wouldn't be able to get their heads around them very easily. They might be forced to ... gasp ... contact a reseller for advice on product selection.
