Just need to confirm my thoughts for this upgrade..customer is currently in 4.3 standard, with Payroll.....upgrading to 2017 without Payroll....but would like to keep old version for Payroll read-only inquiries.... new version is on a new server.... 1. Backup version 4.30 2. Delete 4.30 payroll data 3. Uninstall Payroll from 4.30 4. Migrate 4.30 into 2017 5. Restore backup into 4.30 folder Any issues I might encounter?? Thanks

If you use the old keys I think you can migrate 4.3 payroll. Then in 2017 do whatever you need to with removing PR and swapping keys. Or am I missing something. I'm pretty sure I did something very similar. They were not able to use payroll without a subscription but I'm pretty sure they were able to migrate it. Then on 2017 they were able to use Crystal and VI on the payroll tables. They just couldn't go in through regular UI access (menus).

When I try to enter the old keys into 2017 is says the Keys are Invalid.....

It was easier....install Payroll in the new version..it will allow for 45 days....
