Just had a really great game of ""we can't get this to print to the right tray"" which culminated in a game of ""don't you have a list of printers that work with MAS90"". The printer in question was a P2305 and the client was having problems where the system would stop and ask them to load paper to Tray X ... Workaround I found in one instance was to hard code the printer/tray to the check form. Naturally that potentially causes issues in 6 months when the normal AP person is out on vacation and someone at another station with another printer tries to print. For now the HP 2035 seems somewhat problematic though I cannot guarantee these folks followed all my suggested debugging since I encountered a fair amount of IT pushback that the suggestions I made ""couldn't work"" since Word and Excel were printing fine. FYI

What I finding that addresses this is to create a printer named ""MAS Check Printer"" that prints to the same port as the troublesome printer, but uses the Windows HP III printer driver. Seems virtually all laser printers can handle this driver and all printing incompatibilities disappear. Also, there is no question which printer to print checks to.

That was one of my suggestions. They insisted that HP 4000 was a generic enough printer. That one printed garbage. I suggested use the most basic driver possible. I also couldn't rule out that they had HP middleware (which was my initial suggestion that they remove) which could be causing some issue.

Love it when the IT boys say Excel and Word work so why doesn't that POS MAS 90?

Had this issue recently, also on an HP 2035 printer. Client has had to manually push the Go button on the printer each time, but changing the default tray resolved it: At the printing screen in MAS 90/200, click the Printer Setup button and go into the Preferences where you can specify the default tray, and specify Tray 2 - and see if that helps. I think the setting change will stick for Checks (forms), but for Reports they just keep paper in the manual feed. And this issue was only happening in MAS. Other applications were fine. And I was told that this issue only began once the 4.40 upgrade was implemented.

Customer on 4.4.0.6 got a new PC. Now the HP 2035 has the Load Tray 1 message when printing from MAS. I knew if I searched here I would find something!

The printer preferences in MAS supersede the Windows printer preferences.
