Just had a conference call with American Payment Solutions. They offer an alternative processing for credit cards which mirrors much of what Sage Payments offers. The module is free and there is no SPS per transaction or monthly SPS processing charge. They are also a 90 Minds Vendor Member. Similar looking integration and they claim to migrate existing SPS data (versions 4.4+). Will pay SPS cancellation fees Patty Benitez is working there now - pbenitez@apsmerchants.com - (773) 892-7817 From my notes: - Support Level III (can take a rate from 2.6 to 1.9 depending upon situation) - APS will do the initial training on how to process card through Sage 100 (if requested) - Next day funding (no added cost) - Their integration will recall the credit card security code (3 or 4 digit back of card number) - PCI compliant - Info is stored in a vault - similar to Sage - Authorize.net type integrationis to payment gateway's should work (for those who need to intergrate e-commerce) - APS pays 20% (vs 10% SPS) Attaching manual and some relevant screen captures from the presentation

Who wrote their integration? How have they resolved/mitigated conflict with Sage?

Sounds a lot like what Century is telling me. Has anyone done a comparison of those two?

I don't know who wrote the migration. It sounds as if they have some way to migrate data from the back end that Sage is using. This is definitely not using Sage's back end once they get the data out -- which means you are NOT subject to the fees Sage would charge if you decided to use a different processor. On the other hand with American Payments you do have to use them as the processer.

I also sat in on a webinar a few weeks ago. I believe the chief honcho - David Ford - used to be on the board of the company Sage purchased and turned into SPS. He was with Sage for a while then left and started up APS in 2004. His non-compete recently expired.

I believe @CooperBlack has had a hand in the integration. Cooper??? @BrianKelly ???? Search the forum where APS has been discussed. There are posts. Brian has been a big advocate.

Hey gang! Yes, ASI wrote the integration, and we provide ongoing maintenance. We have been developing credit card integrations since 2009, and I am speaking specifically about direct integration (no middleware). Thus, I am little biased when it comes which solution is the best. @BobPfahnl, there are no conflicts with Sage. We have had many discussions with Sage, and the bottom line is that the APS offering is an alternative for those customers who cannot qualify for SPS or do not want to do business with SPS. Rather than lose ERP customers, Sage has realized (or, is it ""realised""?) it is better to have a large piece of the pie than no pie at all. @PhilMcIntosh, I believe Century Business Solutions is similar to the APS integration, but I also know the CBS integration is quite a bit more invasive than the APS integration. I don't know the specifics, but we had a Service Center customer that needed our help to work with CBS to get it removed because it didn't take into account credit card processing from Service Center. It was a bit of nightmare. @WayneSchulz, you are correct on all points. @ThereseLogeais, David Ford was the founder of Verus that was bought by Sage and became SPS. Once David was transitioned off the island, he waited for his non-compete to expire and created APS. David contacted us directly to write the integration. I am happy to speak with any of you or answer any questions that you may have. What I know about APS is this: they know the industry, and they have proven to be an honest and reputable company. They don't play games. Bryce Deeney is the contact I work with on new merchant accounts, and he has been fantastic. David understands the value of the channel, and he is willing to pay handsome residuals to resellers. I can also tell you that while it looks like they pay twice as much as SPS, that number could easily be three, four or five times as much depending on what the true net income is to APS vs SPS. In our experience with SPS, MPS (Mercury) and APS, the first two clearly aren't being honest about residuals and the net income calculation.

@BrianKelly Thanks for your explanation. So it appears Sage backed off all parties offering customer choice and has withdrawn de-auth and legal threats. i appreciate your candid comments and recommendation.
