Hey gang! Yes, ASI wrote the integration, and we provide ongoing maintenance. We have been developing credit card integrations since 2009, and I am speaking specifically about direct integration (no middleware). Thus, I am little biased when it comes which solution is the best.
@BobPfahnl, there are no conflicts with Sage. We have had many discussions with Sage, and the bottom line is that the APS offering is an alternative for those customers who cannot qualify for SPS or do not want to do business with SPS. Rather than lose ERP customers, Sage has realized (or, is it ""realised""?) it is better to have a large piece of the pie than no pie at all.
@PhilMcIntosh, I believe Century Business Solutions is similar to the APS integration, but I also know the CBS integration is quite a bit more invasive than the APS integration. I don't know the specifics, but we had a Service Center customer that needed our help to work with CBS to get it removed because it didn't take into account credit card processing from Service Center. It was a bit of nightmare.
@WayneSchulz, you are correct on all points.
@ThereseLogeais, David Ford was the founder of Verus that was bought by Sage and became SPS. Once David was transitioned off the island, he waited for his non-compete to expire and created APS. David contacted us directly to write the integration.
I am happy to speak with any of you or answer any questions that you may have. What I know about APS is this: they know the industry, and they have proven to be an honest and reputable company. They don't play games. Bryce Deeney is the contact I work with on new merchant accounts, and he has been fantastic. David understands the value of the channel, and he is willing to pay handsome residuals to resellers. I can also tell you that while it looks like they pay twice as much as SPS, that number could easily be three, four or five times as much depending on what the true net income is to APS vs SPS. In our experience with SPS, MPS (Mercury) and APS, the first two clearly aren't being honest about residuals and the net income calculation.
