Just got this from a customer -- is this an SIA candidate? I know they're only asking about updating the reorder points within Sage but wonder if SIA would be better overall? via customer: Is there anything in MAS90 that will look at part usage history and automatically update the reorder points based on the historical usage?

SIA doesn't update reorder points although it provides a ton of information to help figure them out. I recall in class that they said if customer doesn't have reorder points defined to look at receipt and issue history to determine starting point. After reorder points basic are in SIA will give them a lot more information on maintaining stock as it looks at not only on hand but lead times and safety stock.

Why wouldn't it update re-order points? Isn't that kind of the purpose of a solution like this?

@MoiraGoggin does it update anything? Will it generate a purchase order directly into MAS?

@DianeRuth - think of SIA like MRP, it gathers and reports information and you/client decides what actions to take based on that informaton. You can create POs from an import of SIA data - they've provided the following on that topic: http://wiki.sageinvadv.net/Order_uploads_/_interface
