Just did a search and socialcast can't find it. I know we posted stuff on how to reset the mas90 administrator password. Have a consultant on site and client doesn't know it. TIA

Sent (and I do not think we've shared this on Socialcast or in most places publicly). So far as I'm aware it still works.

Sorry I deleted that - Would prefer that we not post that unless we want Sage to close the hole. I'm open for discussion on it but we had not openly shared it before (private email ok)

Mark, Mark, Mark.....On a system where you know the admin password use DFDM and copy it the notepad and save it as a text file. Then on system needing to be reset open up the file with DFDM and copy the code from the text file into the field. Done.

You can copy the encrypted admin password from 4.4 into the older version and it will use the new pw in the old system. Backup first.

You use dfdm to do it.

When you think about it you end up slapping your forehead it is so simple. The field while encrypted is not write protected so you can copy into it. All you need to do is copy over from a system where you know the password. The best thing to do is to save a password code to a text tile and carry that with you on a flash drive so that if you are at a clients and you need to reset you can just copy and paste from your text file.

What if the system is version 4.05?

What, do you think Sage changed the encryption codes by version.

So far as I'm aware this does work all the way through v4.xx -- use caution that everything is case sensitive.

The method in question has worked on every v4.x version.

I always make a copy of the file just in case.
