Just curious if anyone has had success adding a UDF number field with more than 2 decimals. I can create the field, mask it, it looks fine on the front end until I enter a 3 decimal number, at which point is rounds to two. Common info - I set all decimal settings to 3 just to be safe. In the table (DFDM - AR_PriceLevelByCustPriceCode) it only shows 2 decimals, so maybe this is just a limitation with number UDF's? I'm about to switch it to a string but wanted to see if someone smarter than me has already worked around this. Thanks.

Looks like Sage closed this out claiming it's not a bug.. http://infosource.sagesoftwareonline.com/sw_attach/kdb.asp?isresolutionconceptid=496207

We added some UDF's to CI_Item and ran in to the same problem - and had no luck with Sage support either. One of those things that is hard to believe exists and even harder to believe Sage won't address it - how hard can it be?

Guess it's time for another public shaming on LinkedIn...

thanks for the info - and for posting that Wayne. I searched but didn't find that particular article. Looks like I'll be changing the UDF to a string field.

I think that it's been kicked around here once or twice. And I agree this is one of those head scratchers because if you don't know the issue then you could potentially plan a big project based on a UDF with 3 decimals and be cooked. Sometimes I get the feeling that Sage does a lot of ""one and done"" with their features. Once they're shipping they don't go back to materially enhance them.

Does a lot of one and done??? Do they do it any other way???? I am very hard pressed to think of anything ""thrown at the wall"" that has ever been improved................ Just take a look at the idea web site!

I think it has a lot to do with their turnover in the product management. I'm sure there are exceptions but there seems to be about a two year cycle of when a VP enters and manages the product line to when they're gone. Hard to get any real consistency in these cases. The whole concept of product updates was great in the conference room but in reality they were nothing but a place for Sage to stuff Extended Solutions to ""prove"" that their product was being consistently updated. Once Sage saw that many customers were locked in by the high costs of switching ERP they started to sing a different tune and claimed customers wanted features taken out. So we had one year when they couldn't put features in fast enough (Extended Solutions) to another where customers allegedly begged to have features removed.
