    I was told by Sage that it had to be completed before our payroll renewal date which was sometime in July.  I don't remember the exact date we were given.  We completed it a couple of weeks ago.

    Thank you John for asking this question!  As soon as I saw it, I asked the team if they had heard of a new Payroll Certification and nope!  No one had.  Called Sage and asked our Rep to find out – she didn't know.  Then a half hour later, I received an email saying that we had been informed of the certification last year (heck – I can't remember what happened with Sage last week much less a year ago!) and that I should have known.  Regardless, the Payroll certification is apparently tied to your reseller renewal.  Our Sage 100 renewal is up in August – so we have to take the Payroll test before that renewal, or we won't be able to sell or support Payroll.

    I wasn't made aware of the payroll cert until 12-31-18 and was told it was due Jan, 2019?  Sage told me they were sending email notifications that it was due last fall.  After many conversations, it was discovered that I was not on their email list for these notifications (although I signed up for them) and was given an extension to take it.  I took the payroll exam in March and paid $500.00.  I will be taking the Financials exam this weekend.  I agree with a previous post that I don't think they had enough in 2019 so they added 2017 & 2018 into it.  That seems just wrong in consideration that we already passed those levels last year which is probably why they weren't charging for this one.

    I'm thinking it is because they don't have enough "new" things in 2019 to create a Certification Test just for 2019.  So – they have to add 2017 and 2018 to be able to have enough certification questions.

     

    One of our techs wanted to watch the videos referred to in the training curriculum.  She clicked on one of the videos, and was then asked for  her Credit Card information so she could be charged $25 for the video.  So – while Sage isn't charging for the curriculum posted on the website for the Cert, if you want any additional information referred to in the Curriculum, you have to pay for it.

    Agree with @Beth.Bowers – my techs said they didn't go through all of the courses, and as long as they had Sage open, they had time to look for some of the answers.  The biggest issue, as always, is that whoever wrote the tests doesn't understand the software.  So what the scorers have labeled as the answers are not always 100% correct.

    If you have the "What's New" for 2017, 2018 (the most recent including all of the product updates) and 2019 open​ then it becomes a search and select mission. I've attached the "What's New" that I used.

    I watched all those boring videos and took copious notes, then took the test immediately afterwards. That was zero help. What did help was having the what's new documents open to search.

    Agreed. Having the three What's New and Upgrade Guides available with Sage 100 running... all that is needed.  The videos were a waste of time (but I downloaded them just in case... right-click - Save As...).

    Just passed using the three guides posted above. Had about 30 minutes to spare. Not hard at all except for some questions on things that are lesser used ( Time Track, ACH )
