Joe Bisaha would like to bring Stacy Shultz from JobOps with him to MotM. They have registered two - Joe and Kristen Baumgartner from JDB Solutions. My question is, since JobOps is neither a consulting nor a vendor member, can he bring her as a ""guest"" for an additional fee? He works closely with JobOps so I think it may add value but I don't want to overstep my bounds. @PeterWolf ?

JobOps is a separate company and should apply separately - that's how I see it. I'm open to an informal vote and going whichever way the group decides. My vote is no because it lessens the value of the people that pay. What's stopping all the third-parties from latching on to an existing member? Not trying to be obstinate and I am open to either view. FYI - I did reach out to them a few times. They got back to me late last week saying that they were going to attend with Joe. I thought I had commented in the Admin group about it because I wasn't sure what the Admin Board would say about that.

What was your response to them when they said they were going to attend with Joe?

Nothing yet. I had a follow up reminder for tomorrow to get back to them. Before that, I wanted to see what you all thought. I thought I had posted in the Admin group but I was on my mobile device and I probably screwed it up. Thank you for raising the issue again.

They should be able to attend under the agreed upon guest policy.

Let me know once you've reached out to them again and I will let Joe know one way or the other.

And what was that guest policy again?

And if they can attend, what stops all members from inviting third-party add-on publishers?

From the Dec. 4th admin meeting: https://docs.google.com/a/community.90minds.com/document/d/1RJe6OM91x2errNlJRP_qItzPBJuynJ_oBeTc94RUy-I/edit Motion by Wayne Second by Therese Votes: Yes Wayne Therese Jeff Jim Peter The group may allow a member in good standing to bring a guest - who is a qualified prospective member - to an open meeting (ex. Meeting of the Minds) provided the guest pays the full regular GUEST registration fee and meets membership requirements. Meeting guests attend only once (on a per company basis) under guest status. After attending as a guest the company they represent is expected to have enough information to decide whether to join 90 Minds. Their company may not normally send another representative again as a guest (even with a different member) without becoming a paid member. For the purposes of this policy a guest is defined as a candidate for membership to 90 Minds. It is NOT the same as a social guest (spouse) attending an after-hours event or a speaker invited to present at a session by 90 Minds.

We don't have a ""Guest"" fee except for evening dinners. Would the $900 Regular non-member rate apply? Or should we create a ""Guest"" fee?

They definitely can attend at a guest of Joe one time anyways

    Therese a Guest is a regular non=member

No, regular non-member was for members of a member's firm. At least that's my understanding.

In this case it is the Same thing. It is non-member regular price ticket

I think we should let her come once as a guest.. once she sees how great it is JobOps will join want to join next year.

Wow, what happens when I am taking care of the day business..... So she is coming by paying the $900 registration fee correct? And if Synergistics doesn't join as a vendor member, she will not be allowed in again correct?

Joe is going to pay the fee but understands they (i.e. JobOps) can only come one time as a non-member. He is excited about participating.

The next question is, who exactly is JobOps?? Synergistic? Baesis? RKL? Anania? All of them?

  • 21.  RE: Joe Bisaha would like to bring Stacy Shultz from J

    Posted 12-15-2014 16:17
Sounds like Synergistic was purchased by the other three....

I am happy that they are going to see what 90 Minds and MOTM is full force. They will likely want to be a part of it.

Agree with above - provided the guest is a qualified potential member they can come once without joining. I think @ThereseLogeais that the $950 non-socialcast rate applies.

@ThereseLogeais I think we should make sure Stacy realizes Job Ops can attend once. And same question - I'm not sure who Job Ops is. I think it's good to have her there to explain as we have some serious Job Ops-ers. Another question that may come up is can someone attend as a guest and also speak? In my view I leave that to the person organizing the sessions - we should consider possible conflicts with existing vendor members. I think it would be wise for us to not duplicate any of our Platinum or Gold vendor member sessions (ie - True Commerce shouldn't come in and do EDI against MAPADOC or we may find that our vendor members leave). Also in the future we should probably tighten up the loophole and create another fee for ""guests"" that are non-members (clearly not from the firm or not just a consultant) and have the be something like $2,500 and printed on our registration. I also think we should consider a special link for those consultants who qualify for membership and who want to pay their dues and the attendance for MOTM. Not for this year but I think we can make the work easier for ourselves by doing something like this..... ideally you want to be able to send them a link and say ""when ready click and pay"" that way we cut out any back and forth and any paperwork billing that they don't pay.

I specifically told Joe that JobOps (whoever they are) could only come as a guest one time, not just Stacy. That's what I was asking about the ""Guest"" fee. I think it should have been higher. I am not putting similar vendors against each other, e.g. Scanco vs. ScanForce. Not fair to the members either to have to choose one over the other; they may want to evaluate both. As for payment, there is a fee using Eventbrite - 2.5% of the ticket value plus $0.99 per ticket in U.S. dollars.
