Joe Bisaha of WO Scan fame is asking again about joining 90 Minds. Thoughts? He says he is spending a lot of time working as a sub for various resellers. He'd also like to attend the MOTM.

Member vendor. Need pricing plan for vendors who want to join.

From Joe: ""I am currently wearing 2 hats I am a contract consultant for people like Blytheco, NET@Work and other larger resellers for manufacturing and process control. (Deb and concur to this since we work on large project sometimes.) I would like to join for those reasons and keep the Vendor aspect out of it if possible.

I give Joe a greenlight for joining via his consulting side of the business. Plus he is a GREAT manufacturing resource . We have pulled him in on consulting gig and he did a very great job.

My vote is no. Not as a regular member. The fee we charge is unreasonably low for the value we provide to vendor members. We need to come to an agreement on how we handle these vendors. And I understand every vendor does some consulting. That doesn't make them a consulting firm.

Anyone else want to voice an opinion? I'm not voting until the end because I'm acting as Joe's advocate and shouldn't express an opinion until the votes are in.

I agree with Wayne that there should be a different fee structure for vendors, even if they are consultants as well. Just my .02.

My point is he is joining as a consultant not a vendor. He is similar to deb Thomas. As I said he has some great ideas. I think of a vendor firm is more like Altec. True commerce, ScanForce, scanco. @peterwolf @jeffschwenk. What are your thoughts?

Not only that, I don't think any of the ""vendor member"" options presented include an option of being a member of the community. Devil's advocate, we have a rep from Net@Work (plus Brett but that's different), a rep from SWK, and multiple reps from Blytheco.

As long as he understands there is no soliciting other members.

I totally agree with that!!! ""No soliciting"".

And many reps from DSD...... No soliciting. Let's move forward. I think there is a distinct difference with scanco, scanforce, alavara, etc. Tribe has spoken. Have him sign up via the web site.

I am good with him joining. The lines are blurry with a lot of the partners / consultants - Azamba, DSD, SWK, Net@Work, Alnoor, I-BN - and most are well-behaved. I certainly don't see spam in the forums.

    Will do.

So let me make sure I understand this. I'm busting my ass so we can admit vendor members -who in turn market to our members endlessly - pay unusually high amounts for existing members to educate our group. Yeah - that sounds like a good use of time.

I'm open to seeing this from a different light but I see a difference between Joe - a one man shop mostly - vs Avalara. Am I thinking about it wrong?

Wayne, I understood what you were working on was more of an advertising / representation package? I don't recall actual logins as part of the package. Joe isn't asking to represent WO Scan to 90 Minds. He's looking for a technical association to participate in. Am I wrong?

I think Joe is looking for collaboration on Sage 100 issues as opposed selling product.

I saw it the same way as Jim and Robert. I think it's a different situation and doesn't invalidate what has been done around vendor companies.

I definitely think we need an advertising membership.

Just a followup based on this discussion. I've decided that as an unpaid admin that I'm not going to spend additional time which largely will enrich member vendors. I am going to continue in the same technician/break-fix role that 99% of our members have taken on and which I believe is the course of 90 Minds. Therefore I'l no longer be the unpaid keeper of any resources for 90 Minds including Evernote and the DropBox. Don't think people used them much so no big deal. Anyone who is in the Evernote shared KB (Sage 100 KB) will need to re-subscribe via the 90 Minds Business Notebook. Effective immediately I will no longer be involved in updating or contributing to that KB. I show the following 90 Minders with access. I believe in order for all of them to continue they'll need access to the 90 Minds business notebook but you can read up more on what will have to happen. Bill Pfahnl Jim Woodhead Moira Robert Jeff Therese Anyone who has interest in picking up the conference fee schedule is welcome to do so as I'm not going to actively develop that or devote any resources to updates.
