  • 1.  JobOps time entry retriction?

    Posted 05-09-2023 16:57

Request from a JobOps customer about to move to version 2022:

    ·        When entering time through administrative time entry, is there a way we can get a warning/notification to pop up and let us know that the job we are trying to enter time on is currently in a batch or already exist in history, so we will not enter time on that job? Is there a way to change settings so it will not allow us to add time to a job in history or while it's in a batch? Most importantly if it's in history!

In my data, in Administrative Time Entry, I do get a warning that the WT is in history.  And if I "ok" the warning, then I can see the Status has been marked COM or what ever is defined as my "Complete" setting in JobOps Setups.  I think knowing that it was currently in an Invoice or MTS Batch when posting would be helpful; wonder if that could be added to one of the reports?  Either the "Labor Report by Employee" or the "Daily Labor Register"?

History:  In OM > Setup > OM Options click on the Registration tab, then under the Options column click Time Tracker, and uncheck "Allow Regular Entry to History W/Ts".

Batches: I do not know of a way to alert if a WT is in a batch during Administrative Time Entry.

    Further from the customer:
"When we open a Sales Order that is in a batch a message pops up to let us know that the Sales Order is in a batch to be invoiced.  Is there a way to set up same message in Time Entry?"

Is that something that should be scriptable in Operations Management, or would it need to be an enhancement request to Scanco?

I don't personally write scripts.  Since the Sales Order Header Table holds the "current invoice" Number, I would think a script could be written. In Time Tracker, Administrative Time Entry is available in Custom Office.
