  • 1.  Job Cost Posting future period

    I have searched Sage portal, with no luck, other than that have not searched a whole lot for an answer. The client is on v2019.2 with PM Adv. They only have a few people that can post entries to JC and a couple of them are getting this message - The J/C Accounting Date (9/9/2020) does not fall within the Current and One Future Period for the module (7/1/2020 to 8/31/2020).  Do you want to override?

    Now the period the module is in is Sept 2020 and they were logged in with system date 9/9 and get the message. So they should not even be getting the message. Is there a flag to turn off somewhere?

    That looks like the regular Company Maintenance setting.

    There is also a setting in Role Maintenance/Security Tab/Library Master.  It controls the Accounting Date.

    Yes you guys are doing exactly what I did. Company maintenence defines to post to one future period and role maintenance can give user the ability to go past that. However the period end is Sept and they are trying to post to Sept logged with system date Sept.

    It appears this is resolved with PU3 (and kb is below):

    Error: "Record: J/Cxxx is missing from SY0CTL.SOA" followed by "Error 11 SWVDTE 0520" no longer occurs when accessing Job Cost Tasks when 'Restrict Accounting Date to Current and One Future Period' is enabled in Company Maintenance and 'Allow Accounting Date Beyond One Future Date' is unchecked for the users Role in Role Maintenance.

    Another option is maybe to provide the applicable user(s) with an 'Override' logon for them to enter as prompted/needed.  For example, maybe create a new 'override' logon in User Maint and assign a new 'override' Role that just contains the enabled 'Allow Accounting Date...' setting.
