Job Cost module alternatives for Sage 100 Premium? Client in service industry is looking to migrate from Sage 100 Standard to Sage 100 Premium so they can have a SQL database because they are looking to integrate an auditing software they created that has a SQL database. However, they use the Job Cost module which is not available in Premium. So aside from considering for example Sage CRE or JobOps (https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/21324531?ref=stream), I'm wondering if there's other systems to consider and/or other viable options ibnlt implementing a 3rd Party stand-alone solution to handle the Job Cost functionality.

Interesting question Brett. I've had users migrate away from Sage 100 to Solomon for project tracking and Sage Timberline (whatever the new number is) for Job Costing. I'll be interested in what you find because I think the environment has changed and we're going to see more of these types of users that are not using Sage 100 ERP core capabilities (wholesale distribution) migrate away. I've seen some users try to make do with non-integrated solutions or those that integrate loosely through VI. Seems that the trend is to migrate away from Sage 100 ERP unless the company is clearly in Sage's sweet spot -- which I think is 10+ user wholesale distribution.

How much of Job Cost do the use? Have a couple of users who ended up just adding a UDF various places (with a UDT to validate) and then some Crystal Reports to compare billing vs expenses.

S2 Incorporated has a project accounting solution for Sage 100. You might check them out as a possible alternative.

Thanks, all. @BethBowers, not a bad idea but their usage of J/C is somewhat heavy. Fyi, in the other thread, Jeff Schwenk made a suggestion of the DSD Mirror enhancement that creates a SQL table that they could then use....
