Is it just crap demo data, or is this WIP report actually always just showing you the WIP as of right now - kind of like the Purchases Clearing report?  The WIP field doesn't appear to actually be calculated based on the date - it's just dumping out the WIP field stored in the old JC2 file.

That's exactly what it's doing and WAD per Sage.  They want it working just like it did in the old version.  Pure stupidness

I would love to know the reasoning behind the decision to leave it working the same as the pre-framework version.  Inconsistently, when payroll was upgraded to framework, the payroll reports were recreated to filter by date, as they should be.

Same as always, if the user forgets to print the WIP report after the close of business on the last day of the month, they have no idea what the correct WIP totals are, and there is no supporting detail for the GL WIP balance.

Maybe someone from xkzero can comment as they did the rewrite.  Chances are, they were given complete marching orders from Sage for the requirements.  No more, no less.  Not knowing two licks about JC, would it not be possible to throw a Crystal together using data from history?

It would be similar to trying to create an aging from scratch in Crystal where you could specify a prior date - either having to back out data from the current balances (take out invoices and payments), or start from the beginning with a job and add everything in up to the date selected.  Either way, it's something I would be leery of doing in Crystal.  But that's IMHO.
