  • 1.  JC Job Transaction Detail records missing after 2018-2020.1 Prem upgrade

    Client just noticed this (and yes, the conversion was over 2 weeks ago).  On first pass through, it appears that records with a SeqNo that is greater than 0 are the ones missing, but not ALL of them.  
    In 2018 there were 1597 records with SeqNo > 0, and in 2020 there are currently 622 (and of course there is two weeks worth of new data).

    And possibly related - I have had 2 clients demonstrate missing Billing History records (which are in the same file) if the invoices were done on the same date.

    Hi Beth

    Is this a Premium installation? If so did you go direct to 2020.1 or first to 2020.0?  We had a client that went to premium and we had to do 2020.0 then 2020.1 as job transaction file through an error and Sage is fixing it for next release and I think SP 2 for 2020.

    We went straight to 2020.1.  I don't know of any errors, but I didn't do the actual conversion.  I am really happy to hear this (not).  Thanks for the info.

    Karen McWhirter is meeting with me this morning to go over this.  I sent her the file dumps I had from 2018 and 2020.  So at this point we do not know if it's a 2018+ to 2020 thing, or a Prem thing - but I do know I cancelled a Job Cost upgrade I had scheduled for this weekend until we know more!  I still think there is an issue out there re multiple billings on the same date same customer, too (which would pertain to the same SeqNo field).

    Apparently until the bug is fixed with PU2 for v2020 (per the kb article which I don't have handy), upgrading from v2018 with J/C should first go to v2020.0 first.  I guess the data conversion errors out if you try to go straight to PU1.  I myself didn't deal with this.

    Do you mean the one about the purging to history?  That's the only one I know about, and what Karen first mentioned.  But this is live stuff, not history.

    @Beth Bowers has it been established it is specifically with Premium?  I think our 2020 JC upgrades have been with 2020.0 with update 1 added subsequently, but none of our JC clients are on SQL.  Anything we need to be looking for? ​
