I've sent a followup email to Socialcast to inquire about a paid subscription. I'm not terribly hopeful about these guys. If they're not able to response to a request for a price ---- I have grave concerns about what their ongoing business model is / will be. I don't know if VMWARE is going to fold in Socialcast or if there are just no plans to service the under 500 user license market.

I think we're going down the wrong path with Socialcast. I am going to recommend we not subscribe to their pay service. My gut says that we're only locking ourselves in for a year or two - then we'll be hit with fees to upgrade.

    Who has a better model?

I think they are in a transition mode but the model is sound. The features they advertise are exactly what we need. I think we just need to be persistent and get on board.

I'm happy to pass the baton and let someone take a charge at these guys.

Carrie Young is the one who has been talking to me today via Twitter. Most of their customer service is reactive. Tim Young appears to be the owner. They're probably related somehow. There was another salesman who had no clue how to quote anything and told me that everyone was at a VMWARE conference last week but he'd get me numbers. That was the last I heard from him. They quoted $2,500 for 100 users. Then when I asked about a trial -- both via Twitter and Email they totally disappeared.

I got it handled. We will be getting a written quote shortly. He ( Colin)apologized and appreciated the feedback. They understand that they are having some growing pains but are very excited about getting us on board.
