    I've not found a better way to track leads than Evernote. I try adding people to CRM (I use Highrise) and find that I generate a ton of work just to add names that I talk with once (typically people on the web who ""aren't getting third bids"" but disappear as soon as you provide any type of estimate). What I've done is simply make notes in an Evernote notebook labeled ""leads"" - then I can search through that notebook at any time and if the person comes back I THEN put them into a formal CRM. This has worked pretty well for me - especially since Evernote is free (though I use the paid version) and it synchronizes to just about everything so you can get at your notes on the road, etc.

    I've been using Evernote since it wasn't even web enabled, and I love it. Good call on using it to track leads.

    As crazy as it sounds I've been using Yammer for the same partner. We have a group called Prospects and my colleague and I can both access it and get notifications.

    We use Sage CRM to track everything. Yes, we actually drink the Kool Aid we are selling. But, to make it really work for us we use CRM Accelerator from CRM Together. Wayne mentioned the time it takes to just create the lead in CRM and that is where we really like the CRM Accelerator product. Emails that come in can be created as a Company, Person, Case, Opportunity or Lead all in one step from the email. We use CRM for our Case Management for both our IT team and the Sage Support team as well. You can Tag emails so they can be auto filed when replies come back and it really exposes all the email conversations to everyone in the organization. I can easily pick up a Lead from somebody else and see what is happening. The stuff really does work very well for us and Marc Reidy at CRM Together has been great to work with.
