I've been talking informally with some of you that Blytheco has asked about joining OASIS. I had a phone conversation with Judy Enders who is in Myron's neck of the woods and operates the Mendota Heights MN branch. Ruth Menter also emailed shortly after the webinar expressing interest and that they were reviewing the info. I'm unsure to what extent they will join (how many people) however I wanted to give everyone the heads up that this seems likely to occur. Remember that it's also another reason why we use the External Groups for tech talk as it keeps EVERYTHING except for what is posted directly into those groups private. This means that nobody who is an External Contributor sees anything in the ""Share with my colleagues"" or any other Non-External Group. All of the old group postings remain private and available only to users with full 90 Minds logins. Presently the only 5 groups that External Contributors (where the new people are going) can read or post into: * Business of Consulting * General * MAS90 Routine * MAS90 Urgent * Sage News They do not have any access to any other areas. We also as a group need to continue to use these * groups (listed above). This whole model of shared support won't work if we begin to allow group members to fall back to using the old members only support areas because they don't like our choice of this member or that member.... If we start to see people doing that we would have to make a decision about closing/archiving those old groups to push conversation into the * technical areas. Personally I think the more smart minds we can put together to share support info the better. I know this will be a change of thinking for many of the members of 90 Minds and we might even lose one or two over it -- but long term if we are to be able to maintain the capabilities this group we definitely need to be growing.

Interesting. Surprised this never entered our thought process. Will think some more about it over the weekend.

@JeffSchwenk - What are you saying never entered into our thought process??? I think the whole reason we wanted the two tier system was so we could handle exactly this problem. Maybe not the USS Blythe specifically though ... is that what you meant?

Some of us thought about it and it's the reason I suggested we needed to keep a 90 Minds only support area.

Capt Bly. In my wildest dreams, I never imagined that situation. Just like I never imagined an earthquake in VA, Unintended consequences..........

I'm with Wayne. The more 'minds' the merrier and we can now safely segregate political/competitive info from purely technical. That being said, should we really have an external facing Sage News and Discussion group given how that's likely to melt down into bitching?

I agree with Mark - the current discussions have already been snarky at times and near full on bitching at other times. We just need to learn to watch ourselves or make sure that anything we say is acceptable to be ""in the wild"".

Lets not add any more groups - figure out where to put sensitive info into a current group that's private to 90 Minds like ""90 Members Only"". We don't have that much to share that's scary secret regarding comments on Sage. I'm more concerned that we do not share sales and marketing best practices. What's Sage going to do -- call and say they heard we bad mouthed them in a private members only forum? ...
