It's probably likely with the onset of Atlas that Sage will close the public access to their knowledge base or at the very least 'freeze' it at a certain point in time. Am thinking we should be creating our own KB though I do not think I would make it fully public.

    Thoughts?

It's great idea. I'm interested in what SAGE does. If they lock down their kb then it is a no brainer.

Ideally I would love to see a site where only the first paragraph is viewable unless you are a group member.

They gutted the public and private KB and forums on the Accpac side. This is an idea that is long overdue. Anecdotally, on the Saleslogix side, there was a partner that had built their own forums and KB for years (long before and after Sage bought them out) and they used that position to become a leading source for SLX support because customers searched them out.

Maybe we need to start a forum on the Ask90Minds?

I personally have no problem with that. The Sage CRM forums on the Sage CRM community are well-attended and it would be difficult to get folks away from there. Has Sage created anything similar for MAS? (or is that what is getting shit-canned with Atlas' roll out?)

Sage has a community for MAS90 which seems to have good participation. I'm not really looking to take on another project unless we can see an ROI different from ""ask90minds"" which turned into just a way for people to ask free questions. And, yes, we still need to talk in San Diego about the ask90minds site (which I believe we'll probably shut down). The other thing we could do is open a community with an eye toward selling advertising -- though realistically that's probably more a pipe dream.

@WayneSchulz One thing you can't tell is if the inbound links from ask90minds helps the SEO over your own personal website. That's hard to measure.

I agree. I'm really not interested in continuing a free help site. Ideally we want to have something that members can use to build 90 Minds brand awareness.

Is there any cost to keeping it. We could keep it and let other strangers answer the questions...or not. As long as the questions pull SEO hits, that's worth it. Not sure if it would allow us to add that Padicact feature and push for 90minds group blog signups.
