  • 1.  Item Unit question

    Hi Folks,

One of our customers manufactures rope.  They generally wind up with some left over that they leave in a bulk item code that has a UOM that is FEET.   The thing is they have a bunch of different lengths, like 300, 180, 140, 20, etc.    They would like a way that within this one item code to track what various lengths they have.  They do NOT what to create codes for each length.   It crossed my mind that maybe Multi Bin could be used, setting up bins that represent the different lenghts, but setting up MB for just this seems like over kill.   Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Lot valuation.  One lot per size.

    Hi Bob

We had this many years ago with another client -
Might have been our lumber friends

We handled it with lot numbers so they ended up
With lot numbers for the same item code with differing square footage

    Thank you,
