It seems to me we are dropping active members here on 90 Minds. We should go into recruiting mode. I don't however want to open the door without seeing a prospective new member being active for say 6 months. Part of my earlier thought of creating a less formal chat system was that we could bring potential new people in through there to ""test"" since they wouldn't have access to the main system and history of discussions. With respect to dormant members I think we would have to treat that on a case by case basis if geography became an issue. If an existing member isn't participating once a week I'd suggest they're dormant. Thoughts? Or should we just let the group wither to a core 4-6 with the rest having free access to login and read our posts?

We have a lot of Premier partners that would be candidates. Brad Kain's team is one of them. Now that Jeff's isn't in the homeland we have a hole in the midwest?

I can tell you that I have been swamped recently and haven't had a lot of time to add back but I think a lot of us are in that boat. it is all about time management.

Actually, I am still maintaining the home territory. Currently working on a prospect back in Iowa and am planning on spending a couple weeks back there next month. I am not quite ready to start working with Brad yet. But I do agree that the posts are mainly dominated by a relative handful of people. It is hard to determine what the reasons are. I am open to the group pulling in new members (that don't live in Iowa........)

There are people who've literally disappeared -- Cindy, Scott Hickman, Myron, Michael Pruet, Kathy Purkiss -- I can't remember the last time I've seen or heard from them except for maybe Myron. I'm not talking about requiring daily participation but I'm uncomfortable thinking that the group is providing benefit to people who aren't actively giving back. And maybe these people have some other issue going on that we're not aware of. That happens. I just think we should actively recruit for additional members (I'd say 6 is a good round target number) and consider a territory open unless we see them here on at least a monthly basis. Our recruitment should be looking for people like Brett and Robert who are active and frequent contributors. I think we need some way to test the new recruits before throwing them into Socialcast. We also should focus on MAS90/200 unless someone within the group can take an active role in promoting other product lines. I would like to see Peter Wolf here more often but understand that when the talk is all MAS that it's not relevant to his product line. Maybe ultimately to deal with some of the territorial issues we provide two sides to the group (which we can do now in Socialcast) -- one being pure support the other being business marketing/sales/industry.

When I notice that people aren't participating, I send them a note to find out what is happening with them. Sometimes they indicate that they missed the turn to Socialcast (Cindy & Barbara O), sometimes it is a family event (Barbara), sometimes they just get busy (Myron) and sometimes the MAS business just dries up and their attention turns elsewhere (Michael). I'm not sure what happened with Kathy as I had honestly forgotten about her. I do like read Peter's posts as they give a fresh perspective about Sage and what is happening in the CRM world. Scott's posts from a MSFT perspective are interesting. And there is the uber poster Wayne thatI wonder where the heck he finds the time to do it all..................

I guess I'm not as concerned about the people who don't participate as the fact that they need to be replaced or the group starts to whither. How shall we test out new members? Are you comfortable throwing them in Socialcast right away? I'd much rather keep them all in a segregated area to find out who is going to be active and who just wants to sit around for a quick look.
