    It is me or does the Sage File Layouts not correctly state the field size for CI_Item - ItemCodeDesc. The layout guide in Sage 100 says 30 but VI displays 4096.

    Visual Integrator will ""create"" the extended item description. The actual ""short"" item description is 30-characters.

    I believe VI actually places the values in an alternate table for you. The CI_item only stores the first 30 characters. Unless something changed recently (and at the moment I have not the time to verify.)

    Yep, there's a CI_ExtendedDescription file for the over-30 descriptions.
