Is there any way to print drop ship items on a picking sheet? It appears that drop ship items don't populate the picking sheet work table which seems logical since most people wouldn't be shipping drop ships. However, in my client's case, they ship consignment items and we are flagging them as drop ship since they don't want to deplete inventory or post costs. These same items do get sold (non-consignment), so we can't just set a standard cost of zero and not drop ship them. I toyed with the idea of using the Sales Order form, however they also sell kits and the kit components don't populate the sales order worktable. Ugh! Any ideas other than creating a new form using the sales order entry files and canning the work tables all together? I figure that might be the only option, but thought I'd see if anyone had creative ideas here first. Thanks!

I have a client in that situation. We use FIFO costing and separated the inventory between the normal warehouse and a consignment warehouse. Items on consignment were brought into the consignment warehouse at zero cost.

I typically handle consignments as @BethBowers described. However, when I run into issues with the picking sheet work table not having information I need to print on a picking sheet, then I resort to modifying the sales order form to look like a picking sheet.

You could link the work table to SO_SalesOrderDetail.

Thanks for the ideas! They aren't bringing that inventory in, which is why we aren't doing a different warehouse/cost tier. I think that I'm going to use a subreport from the SO detail file since I got the ok to group all of their consignment items together (yes, they have both consignment and regular sales on the same order which makes it a bit more difficult!).

Picking Sheet Printing does a SELECT statement excluding drop-ships. We could make a modest MD change that could include the drop ships and populate the Picking Sheet worktable with those for your use. It would not be identified as DS however - so the DS's would have to be self-evident types.
