Is there a way to use VI to change a Sales Order type from Back Order to Standard Order - or prevent orders from moving to Back Order in the first place? We're using the back ordered field in line entry and using a DSD extended solution (Back Order fill utility) to move lines off of back order as they receive stock - and we re-check the pick sheet flag. But the utility only looks at Standard orders. I've played with VI and tried to modify in providex.ddf but the order type is already set to 0. It lets you import that field but it won't let you change that field with an import. just curious if anyone has any ideas - thanks.

Ask DSD to fine tune the utility? You can't be the only one with this issue!

I have - just waiting for a response, but I thought I would proactively look into other options, just in case the cost is to high.

@RandyMarion did some programming once for a similar issue. Wasn't too big of expense. Had to modify the back order fill report in PO receipts to print for standard orders also (not just backorder status). I can't imagine a great expense. Be sure to get your 90 Minds discount also. I believe Wayne has negotiated one for us........

sounds good - I'd like to hear more about that 90 minds discount, we order stuff all the time from DSD. I do think we got the Christmas/holiday discount though

You'll probably need to ask @DougDeane about that one.
