    Is there a way to prevent a journal number from being reused in GL? I know you can allow the numbering to restart from the beginning (or not) via the options in GL - however I don't see a way to disallow re-use.

    That would be nice to have, but I've not seen it either.

    I imagine a script can at least display a message that it's been used.

    Definitely could be done with a script.
