Is there a way to move PDF files from 4.30 to 4.40 after the 4.40 migration and pilot system used? Client migrated system & data files from M200 4.30 to M200 4.40 (and existing PDFs were moved, but pointed to old folder). Client did pilot for Sept, going live Oct. The Sept PDFs are missing from 4.40 viewer. The MAS 4.40 Links Utility will fix the PDF link if the viewer can 'see' the PDF (and broken link displayed in red). I can export from the PL_JournalPDFLog.M4T, but MAS 4.40 does not have the PL_JournalPDFLog.M4T to import into. So, the MAS 4.40 Link Utility, nor V/I, nor copy/paste the 4.30 Sept PDFs to new PDF folder seems to work. Has anybody figured out a way to do this?

Did you re-copy the file from 4.30 MAS_SYSTEM to version 4.40?

The data files were re-migrated but not the system files. My understanding is you copy the system files only once (and are'nt the PL_ files system files?)

Migration -- yes. I mean just a plan old file copy. Rename the old file, copy over the one from 4.30.

Dawn, I believe you suggest copying the 4.30 PL_JournalPDFLog.M4T to 4.40 system. This won't work because then all the old (4.30 prior Sept) PDF and new 4.40 PDFs will not be viewable. Copy paste the PDF to the new folder will not display in the viewer (I was hoping all PDFs displayed in viewer but with broken links, but that is not the case).

Did you move the Paperless folder during the upgrade as well? I have a Paperless folder that does not change locations with every upgrade.

This solution works (From Community Forum) On the PDF Viewers in 4.3 there is a button that is 2nd from the bottom called move. Depending how you setup paperless you may have to select all documents under each document setting and click move. This will bring up a window that asks for the new location, there you will enter in the path that you want to move the document to and click ok. This process does two things: 1. It MOVES, not copies, the file from the old location to the new location 2. It changes the pdf location path with in the viewer in 4.3 Next, go to the 4.4 environment and go to File -> Run and type in *utl and run the Paperless Office Log Migration Utility. A pop-up window will ask for your source path (path to 4.3) and company code. Click OK. This will bring over the pdf path listings from 4.3 to 4.4. People will still be able to view the pdfs in 4.3 as long as the path is pointing to where the pdf is.

Thanks for posting. I had forgotten about the *utl option. I thought it was only for fixing all the crap created in the v4.1 fiasco.
