Is there a way to install an older version of Sage 100 (v2013) on a PC that has v2014 installed?? It's says there is a newer version installed and must be uninstalled to continue with the installation. Any tricks?? @Sage100UrgentSupportNeeded

Typically the 2013 version will run with the 2014 DLLs, so it's really a matter of getting the mas90 folder created. What I do for my dev and test systems is to install on another system then copy the mas90 folder in its entirety to the server where I want it, but in a new folder (""Sage 100 2013"", for example). I then have to create a shortcut for that system. Note that I do this for STANDARD Sage 100 and not for ADVANCED or PREMIUM. I am not entirely sure if it will allow you to run two app servers on the same system. It might, but they would obviously have to listen on different ports.

Yeah, well that's the difficulty. I'm trying to work with a customer's data that is at 2013 so that I can do some testing. Unfortunately, I don't have 2013 installed locally, only 2014. I can't realistically copy their MAS90 directory so I'm guessing I'll have to uninstall my 2014 (it's only a test copy anyway) but what a PITA...

One of our consultants ran into this issue too when he got a new laptop. He ended up having to uninstall Sage 2016 and do the older versions first.

I thought I read the solution on Evernote once but can't find it now. Then again, it's not my friend either!

Virtual Machines...I don't have any Sage stuff installed directly on my laptop. I use Virtual Box and create multiple VMs.

I agree with @PhilMcIntosh , use a VM - Virtual Box or VMWare Workstation both of which are free.

@ThereseLogeais, I'm not sure I understand what the problem is. You surely have more than one PC or server around, don't you? Just install 2013 on one of those then copy the mas90 folder that was created on to your laptop under a different folder name. The two will coexist just fine for the purposes of testing. I have every version back to 3.71 running on the server and they all work. If you absolutely must do a fresh install of 2013, you can copy the 2014 mas90 folder to a safe place, uninstall 2014, install 2013, copy that mas90 to a safe place, uninstall 2013, then reinstall 2014. It's a pain, but it gets you where you need to be. You will then have to create appropriate shortcuts.

What about just doing the customer data testing in v2014? Are you needing to put it back on their system?? I don't recall the exact changes between the two, but this might be a long shot option...

I agree with @PhilMcIntosh and @GregStiles .. I have one older Win 7 Pro pc with several (currently 12) VMs using Oracle's Virtual Box (free). I have 12 instances of SAGE 100 v2013 - v2015 running on that physical computer. All you need is disk space for the VMs.

Those of you running many virtual machines, how are you handling the Windows licenses? There are many advantages to using VMs, for sure.

I install the versions needed on another computer, then copy folder to an external hard drive and create shortcuts to them all. I also have many versions and in some cases multiple of the same versions. Including crystal reports. If you need Advanced you could run in Mas90 mode.

Best deal around for Microsoft software licenses. $475 per year. Qualification isn't too difficult. Been doing it for 10+ years. https://mspartner.microsoft.com/en/us/pages/membership/action-pack.aspx
