Is there a way to default the ""print components"" checkbox on Bill of Materials without the use of scripting/customization/enhancement? I have a customer that makes heavy (almost exclusive) use of kits for selling and whenever someone creates a BOM and forgets to click the ""print components"" everything works great until they go to print the invoice and notice components with serial numbers don't print.

I can't seem to find a setting, but in my XYZ company if a make a new item of type KIT then go to BOM and start a bill for that item and mark it as KIT type, the print components flag is automatically populated with a check mark, so there must be a setting somewhere. I'm still looking for it.

FOUND IT! sales order > setup > options tab #4 Forms. Include Kit item on Picking Sheets. for whatever reason though, I think turning that off will only affect new items created in inventory after you change that setting. At least my limited testing seems to point to that.

But I need kit items on pick sheets. I need to show them on pick and invoices. And unless I'm looking in the wrong place the print components doesn't seem to be on the advanced fields list.

Sorry Wayne, I thought I was on to something with the checkbox in sales order setup. After further testing, it turns out I was seeing it checked on only when I started a bill as standard then changed it to type if KIT - then the checkbox is automatically on. I did find the ""PrintComponentDetail"" on the advanced field list for BM Bill of Materials Header and I turned it on and it appears to work. I tested a few more times with this one. hopefully I'm not sending you down another false path.

Thanks, I blew right by BOM Header and was looking at Detail. Hoping this will resolve the issue
