Is there a way to automate the update of Daily Transaction Registers without use the Sage 100 Advanced Task Scheduler? I tried the Sage 100 Advanced Task Scheduler and it appears to be locking up the GL and then no one can update the DTR's. Thanks for your input!!

I don't think I've actually scripted DTRs, but I have scripted General Journal Entry updates to Deferred. I never had much luck printing reliably to anything else.

For how long does it lock up the G/L? I suppose another option could be to use something like [MacroExpress](https://www.macros.com/).

It doesn't seem to release it until you reboot the server or kill the pvxwin.exe task.

Brett, thank you for the info. I will see if we can get a printer setup on the server to print the logs. I will see if that resolves the issue.

Unless I misunderstand, I'm guessing you could just set up a fictitious printer to fake it out.

If you set the default printer as the MS XPS print object, there may be an invisible prompt for a file name...

Denise, I've scripted scheduled DTR's for many modules that print or go to paperless if you decide to give up on yet another hyped feature...
