Is there a ""maximum"" number of user licenses that

Is there a ""maximum"" number of user licenses that can be added to Sage100 Premium ? We recently picked up a client on Sage100 Premium that currently has 50 users and they were told (by someone) that 50 is the most they could purchase I did not think there was a limit

Why would premium have a limit. I have heard of advance installs in excess of 100.

I think they have user bundles pricing of 5, 10, ... 50. With 50 being the largest number you can purchase in a single bundle.

Aha! I bet that is where the confusion came into play. I didn't think there was a limit

End users have claimed to be told all sorts of things about the limits for users. Commonly it's Standard having some random max (it's always a different number).

I have a memory tickling the back of my mind. I don't know if it is real or fabricated. However, I think at one time, early in the release of the new SQL version, Sage recommended a cap of 50 users. I think that was before the product had been fully vetted. There was concern over sizing and performance. I believe it was also around the same time Sage 500 was running into some performance issues. Additionally, it was before the bell had tolled for Sage 500 and if you had more than 50 users, the thought was that you should be looking at 500. I don't know that any of those reasons are valid any longer. The 500 comparison certainly isn't.

Alnoor once told me there was a functional limit on sessions, thought that may have been old framework.

Not sure if this is superseded: What is the maximum number of user licenses possible for Sage MAS 90 / 200 ERP? What is the maximum number of concurrent user can be signed into MAS 90? What is the maximum number of MAS 90 workstations installations? Entry Type: Informational Product: Sage MAS 90 ERP Sage MAS 200 ERP Application: Library Master Version Reported: 4.30 Subject: What is the maximum number of user licenses possible for Sage MAS 90 / 200 ERP? Possible Resolution: Note: The following considers software potential maximums and does not consider factors such as licenses or hardware/network considerations. What is the maximum number of user licenses possible for Sage MAS 90 / 200 ERP? 255 licenses. What is the maximum number of concurrent user can be signed into MAS 90? 255 users may be signed into the application What is the maximum number of MAS 90/200 workstation installations? The software may be installed on up to 401 workstations at the same time. Note, the software does not check at run time if this number has been exceeded. Note: This limit is ignored for by using a command line shortcut to launch specific tasks (such as a time clock entry application) thus making the maximum number unlimited.

Our largest current customer has approximately 65 concurrent users and over 400 named users for Sage 100 and other applications. We have had as high as 90 concurrent with 255 named users in our environment with MAS 200 (they moved to big SAP). Typically in a terminal server environment we would limit the number of users on a terminal server due to login collisions and/or assign users so that geography limited collision. My actual experience is a little dated, but for these large installs we used to setup a batch routine to copy user profiles so buttons and other settings would stick across multiple workstations on the terminal server and the across terminal servers if you want to load balance.

@EricAnderson our largest ever customer has 120 seats with 8 business locations (local Indian nation with gaming facilities spread across part of the state). It worked ok but remote printing was a pain on a regular basis. I wouldn't want to do another one that large. I required a lot of TLC to keep running smoothly. If you do go down that road, just understand you are in an enterprise environment and they need an IT professional on staff. A real IT professional, not a tinkerer or a workstation tech. Server moves, upgrades, remote printing, terminal server management, IP routing; lots to birth, grow, and feed. BTW, they eventually moved from MAS 200 to Peoplesoft. That will give you an idea of volume and size.

@ShawnSlavin - Remote printing has ceased to be a problem for us for years. I would say in mid 2000's the Citrix UPD became fully USB compatible and we have had so many custom printing requirements by now they all seem routine.

@ShawnSlavin - public company with plenty of IT resources and I think their intention is to move some entities/users from Oracle down to Sage 100 due to major issues with Oracle and general satisfaction (and much lower cost) with Sage 100.

it's funny - had a call with Sage Inventory Advisor this morning, investment of 2K + 299/month and they made a joke that it would be a 5 million project for Oracle

We had one come down from JDE to Sage 100 and we beat out Oracle by telling them our software cost would be their annual maintenance!
