I've had a UDT with 1M+ records before that didn't give me any performance issues when used in a report where it was the only table. As for size limit, I believe the file would be split into sequenced files like the other M4T files that get large (AR_InvoiceHistoryDetail, IM_ItemTransactionHistory, etc).
