Yes, very easily with absolutely no permission problems (which can happen with UDT's).
The who and when is already part of the Activity Log... just construct the values you want to save (sMsg) then:
oSession.WriteLog "M", sMsg

Thanks @Kevin Moyes but can you script something to post to the Activity Log? Customer wants to track changes to SO ship dates - who, when, why?

(I think I'll stick with Discussion type posts...).
UDT maintenance is horrible with large record sets, but we've used UDT's for large row counts without issue. Purging old data is a problem though (must be scripted). If it is just logging, perhaps consider the Activity Log. Sage improved that interface recently.

No, I created a new post and did not select the Question option. I have no idea where my original question posted!
So we're using a UDT as a log and it could become quite huge, thus the size limit question.

Well, I am seeing this post. Maybe it is the same one??? Perhaps a HL expert can clarify?
Regarding the limit for UDT size, I suppose there isn't until there is. Back in the early days (4.5 or 2019), a client had over 1,000. Clicking on the magnifying glass became an exercise in patience. But it kept working. Can you say "EverReady Turtle"?

It's there but I don't see it because I use a shortcut that apparently only shows new discussion posts ( across all groups that I have access to). I'm not sure what the difference is between discussion and questions other than they apparently show separately.
I like to have one spot to see all new activity. I'm not sure there is such a spot that shows new questions and discussions.
