Is the maximum decimal precision for IM, BM and WO quantities at 4.5 now 4 decimals? (End of day, easier to ask than dig.) TIA!

Appears to be 4 still (in CI_Item set up) so I am assuming BOM and WO are the same.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't see any other module options but for some reason, I thought it was 5 for BM and WO. @BethBowers is it only 4 for BM and WO?

I believe it has always been 4 for everything. If you wanted more decimals, you had to go with an enhancement. Unfortunately, what you gained to the right of the decimal, you lost to the left. I believe DSD has the decimal precision enhancement now.

Yes, @ThereseLogeais, @JeffSchwenk is right - have to use DSD for 5 and 6 decimals.

I have installed 6 decimal precision from both DSD and SWK. I believe with DSD's product in the newer versions >4.4 you no longer lose to the left.

Well there's another sale of DSD's CIDP - Common Information Decimal Precision. They would have been okay with 5 decimals but 4 just doesn't cut it. (Chemical manufacturing.) Very painless as the customer had four Extended Solutions to do the same. All I had to do was send an installed app listing from 4.3 showing they owned any of the Extended Solutions CIDP replaces and they only pay the maintenance. @JimWoodhead - This is news. If client is already using decimal precision extended solutions, you provide the v44 or v45 versions for only the cost of the maintenance????

DSD is doing that with all extended solutions, aren't they, @JimWoodhead ? As long as they client was current.

WOW 3 call outs in a row You got my attention. It actually depends on the title. If DSD had already had the title then it is called an ""DSD Replacement"" in which you just had to pay maintenance. Now if it was a new title to DSD then there was an associated jump fee.. DSD Replacements: These ES titles will be replaced by DSD's version of the product and upgraded to version 4.40 right away. We will make these products available to users that own prior versions of the Extended Solution for the price of a Maintenance Plan, and there will be no additional fee to upgrade to version 4.40. 4.40 Jump Fee Titles: These ES titles will require some redevelopment effort to upgrade to the Business Framework for version 4.40. We will make these products available to users that own prior versions of the Extended Solution for the price of a Maintenance Plan plus a one-time ""Jump"" fee to receive the 4.40 version of the product. These Extended Solutions titles will only be upgraded upon request. Because of the substantial amount of time researching the jump fee price, only those titles having 5 or more end-users will have jump fees shown in our ES catalog. All other titles' jump fees will be made available in a timely way, on request.

Since DSD already had developed CIDP, is that why we didn't have to pay the jump fee @JimWoodhead? (And if we now have to pay the jump fee, I'm not going to be very happy with @JeffSchwenk.)

In the case above We had already had developed CIDP Six Decimal Precision and Masking so if you own one of the Extended solution for precision and masking you could upgrade for the cost of maintenance otherwise the cost is $2250 SRP which includes the first year maintenance.

But honestly. Since the clients stop paying maintenance with V4.4 My guess is that this policy will be changing very soon .... Sorry @ThereseLogeais

Well, that was one reason they were quick to say yes - I told them they hadn't paid maintenance for the last couple of renewals. This is the only customer with decimal precision I have and I think all the other ones with extended solutions we've already addressed so don't worry @JimWoodhead , I won't hold it against you!

I was concerned your question would open a can of worms @JeffSchwenk but @JimWoodhead has assured me that all is well and good in DSD land....

I have found that if you don't ask the question, it may come back to haunt you ...........
