  • 1.  Is Starship 20.2 Safe To Install?

    Starship just sent an announcement to one of my customers that version 20.2 is available.

    Has anyone upgraded to this version? Is it safe to do so? 

    A new version of StarShip is available.

    Sage 100 Enhancements

    Compatibility testing complete for:
    • Sage 100 2020 (BOI interface)
      Note: Sage 100 2020 Shipping Data Entry interface will be available in the next release.
    New Sage 100 BOI custom write-back!
    You can now update the ship via and ship date on write-back.
    In the next release you will also have access to UDF fields located on the sales order header and line, invoice header and line, package, package contents, customer and inventory records.

    • EEI Filing Changes
      Effective June 29, 2020 - EEI filing will be required when shipping commodities, regardless of value, on the Commerce Control List (CCL) to China, Russia or Venezuela. EAR99 items are exempt from this change. StarShip supports EEI filing by the carrier OR via the ACE integration to assist with compliance in this area.

    • NAFTA to USMCA/CUSMA
      On July 1, 2020 a new trade agreement between the United States, Mexico and Canada will replace NAFTA. The CBP has not released an official form, however, a new USMCA and CUSMA form will be released as a data update to version 20.2.

    I did one upgrade on Thursday and another on Friday.  My understanding is that if you ship to Canada or Mexico you must upgrade to v20.2 before July 1.  The NAFTA commercial invoice documents are being replaced by USMCA (Mexico) and CUMCA (Canada).  V-technologies will automatically update Starship v20.2. You need to be on v20.2 to get the form update.  If you use the paper commercial invoice form, when the form is pushed out by Vtech (sometime before 7/1), you need to enable the form(s) using Setup, Manage Documents.

    Not ready yet for Sage 100 v2020, but should be fine for v2018, v2019 versions.  Good to hear @Doug Higgs that yours went fine.​
