Is Job Ops EVER going to have a multi-bin solution? Have client that is feeling the pain. Is the hold up Job Ops programming, finding a partner to work with or not having enough need to please the shareholders?

This has never been a priority with Synergistic and based on pressure on many fronts to be compatible and other enhancement priorities, I doubt it will be. I don't believe any solution provider or JobOps consultant would disagree that Synergistic does not have the resources to address many key needs, and they are not going to invest any more in this. I have made many attempts to find a buyer for the package, but either they want too much or the potential does not calculate. I'm sure it's some of both. The closest we have so far to multi-bin is the integration of the Innovative Consulting Services WMS software at a JobOps client of ours. The WMS has multi-bin capabilities that are in a table outside the main tables and accessed well on the handhelds. The final integration that requires some minor programming on the part of Synergistic has not occurred, so this is not yet a solution.

I think your assessment is exactly correct. BDO is harvesting it. Unless the GM is changed to one that is technically- and market-savvy, there is no hope for change. Even with that, it would be hard. When they were first contemplating how to deal with the changes in Framework, I encouraged them to seriously consider using the opportunity to build the job management pieces in a separate app with 21st century coding. Without that flexibility, the're pretty stuck.

JobOps uses Sage 100's inventory module. The question should be is Sage 100 ever going to incorporate multi-bin in to it's product. The answer is ""no"". That question has been asked at the Sage conferences for decades and Sage has always danced around the issue. What it boils down to is getting multiple third party packages to work together. In my opionin, multi-bin is functionality that should be inherent in the product. The best options at this point are similar to what John is pursuing with performing multi-bin outside of Sage 100. It is really a warehousing concept anyway.

There are some companies/industries that have products or raw materials that truly require the multi-bin function, but lately we encounter many who require this only because they have insufficient warehouse space or they are disorganized.

As long as people are involved, there will always be a need for consultants.
