    Is it true that you can't import Quantity Received to PO_PurchaseOrderHeader? I had a 4.4 upgrade go bizarre on me and I need to import about 500 backorder purchase orders. Apparently, you can't import the quantity received and I wanted to make sure I haven't completely lost it...

    If you import L.QtyOrdered and L.QtyBackOrdered, does that not calculate the QtyReceived column?

    Hi Phil - it does as long as there is a qty backordered. I should have been clearer in my original question, the lines that are causing me problems are the other lines on the PO that have been completely received. The customer still wants them on the PO because the have returns and such, but if there isn't a quantity backordered, then it assumes they haven't been received yet and holds them open.

    Header or Detail table?

    I was trying to do an export for someone and could not get that field. Ended up doing a query in Excel.

    It appears that I can only import into the header table - version 4.4 so it is the new ""smarter"" platform for PO.

    Right. The Detail is part of the Header import. Sounds like either a perform logic thing or a BOI script thing.

    Wildass hackaround idea: try adding a small fractional qty as a backorder on the complete POs, and use the auto close partially received POs and the receipt variance to close POs setup options to close them. {My lawyer says to put a whole book of disclaimers on this as I have not tested it. }

    I like the out of the box thinking! When I try to import a backordered qty of .0001, it tells me ""cannot set backorder for this line item, invalid order status"" even though the order status is ""B"".

    Did you also add the .0001 to the qty ordered?

    I have a legitimate quantity ordered that the customer wants to see on the PO, so I don't think I can change that number to be .0001 without screwing up what they want to see.

    Unfortunately almost a month live before they realized this issue. The conversion process only brought over about 800 of 1400 orders. No error message, all the rebuilds were ran, never seen it before.

    That is a fine kettle of fish. Not sure what you can do as the business rules have really tightened down the abilities.

    yeah - it is starting to look like the manual adjusment of over 3k lines.

    I'm probably missing something, but ... how about just deleting the BO PO's, and then reimporting new PO's just for the BO amounts? Deal with inventory adjustments through IM Transactions or Physical Inventory.

    This kind of situation is why I wish everyone was on the SQL version...

    @Phil Mcintosh...How would SQL help the situation described above?

    Since this is putting back history that should already be there, you could write directly to the SQL tables and go around the object rules, which at this point are preventing the data from being correct. Yes, that can be dangerous if someone does not know what they are doing, but if you do know what you are doing it is much easier than doing DFDM on 3000 PO lines. And it isn't any more dangerous than DFDM as long as you take the same precautions and always make a backup first.

    I can see that. Next best would be Jerry's approach to reimport needed PO's and PO receipts if needed then adjust the quantities.
