Is it possible (and a good practice) to import inv

Is it possible (and a good practice) to import invoices into AP Manual Check Header and Details. I have a client that does a wire transfer that pays 3,000 - 5,000 invoices once a month and the standard process is killing him.

I'm not sure what others have done but right now with bill.com we make it a two step process first importing all the invoices, then second step we import all the manual checks. @JimWoodhead worked with us on this and has done quite a bit of testing in this area.

Am assuming it's not just one vendor and it's not a range of invoices (so he can't use the little Select Invoices icon)?

One vendor. The major issue is the time it takes to populate the Selection screen. It's like viewing the Activity Log.

Would it be any faster if you were in regular check and electronic check maintenance?

No. Same issue. Just too darn many invoices. Most of them $2 or $9 dollars (if you can fathom that). I've tried to convince them that one invoice can be distributed among a thousand jobs but they vendor sends them that way, and that's how they're imported.

I'm going to suggest giving boil.com a good look. Can't see pricing info but anything is better than what they're doing now - plus the approval process feature and invoice viewer look cool.

Ok, that's weird. I meant bill dot com and must have mistyped. But look how the mistyped web address is now linked in to my message.

Hope you don't get into hot water due to this typo.

So they aren't willing to change their process to get to the same end result with Sage but they might be willing to look at a third party at added expense??? Just a little crazy.

    And your point @JeffSchwenk ?

Seems like the invoices are already in the system? Imported into A/P entry using VI? If you have the info you need to import the manual checks, I would definitely go for it, especially if I can use the same source file for import.
