Is it just me or is there virtually NO news writte

Is it just me or is there virtually NO news written about Sage Summit other than paid press releases? I've not seen any reviews aside from those of partners blogging about their trip.

I know Bob Scott said I was right in that it was just a 3 day informercial. Was there really anything newsworthy other than the fact that there was little news about any new features, products, modules etc?

Nothing to report... has to be the worst Summit I have ever been to for new product information.

Not that I noticed. They showed the same video of the remote construction app (is this the third year they showed it) and basically similar demos of those mobile apps. Call me crazy but at the least I'd have thought Sage's strategy might have been to talk about Sage One and how that would have a migration path upward to Sage One Extra and start capturing the still active low end marketplace. Instead from my vantage point Sage skipped talking about technology and instead threw up a bunch of overpaid ""keynotes"".... Magic Johnson for a 30 minute 3 person panel????? If I were Magic I would have been laughing my ass off all the way to the bank. Corporate speaking is a great business. This site claims Magic gets $50,000 for a one hour talk. My guess is that Sage was so desperate to appear cool that they paid it ( http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/social-media/excerpts/9780596802004/why-speakers-earn-30k-an-hour.html )

Ongoing Summit drinking games: Game 1) Whenever Doug LaBahn uses a Buzzword, take a shot. Game 2) Whenever you hear/see Kitchen Delites, take a shot.

Even though the show was weak product-wise, there should have been some reporting on it. It wasn't THAT bad. Even man-on-the-street (customer reaction) stories would get read. After all, the high-level concept that Sage NA is pushing is appealing to businesses in general. Soooo, I'm thinking that the Sage NA Public Relations Mgr will soon be looking for a new opportunity to succeed.

I know we'll never hear, but I wonder... How many full time developers work on Sage 100?? Of Sage US's total workforce, what percent are directly involved in either coding or managing coders.... I'd bet they have vastly more people involved in maintenance renewal sales than in actually coding for the maintenance...

@JerryNorman I was sitting next to a few analysts - they seemed puzzled about what to write. The best Sage will probably get is that the invited analysts don't do a hatchet job on Sage.

Mark, a senior Sage 100 Developer told me that there are 25. I have no idea what they do that we see so little from that number.

Diane Coffman said they have time on their hands for v2015, thus the Quick Wins discussion.

Wayne, that's my point. A good PR Manager recognizes when the base news is weak, and dreams up story ideas to pitch. That doesn't seem to be happening. A shame.

Sage has never had a strong PR department. They are very reactive.

Now that you mention it, I see it. Too bad. In a segment like ERP or CRM a well-connected PR Manager who also understands the firm's market segment can generate more attention over the course of 5 years than advertising.

I love Sage 100 ERP. I just wish Sage did too.
