Is it just me or does the Activity Log basically not work once it gets to a certain size? I think this one I'm looking at is about 100 mb. Wouldn't you think there should be some type of purge/maintenance that happens to avoid the problem if this file getting so large. I guess it's also possible that the file is damaged and that's why it is not printing.

I rename them from time-to-time. We have one customer where we rename the file monthly.

If you need to keep the records for future use, before renaming the file you can pull the data via ODBC to Excel or Crystal.

As part of our standard upgrade procedures, we export the activity log to .pdf and then rename the existing file before migrating.

I complained about this in a thread from a previous year. The Activity Log is a listbox that gets the default listbox treatment of loading all (hundreds of thousands) of records before the 1st 25 or so even shown on the screen. So Yes once it reaches a certain number of records then it's faster to create your own Activity Log report or pull it into Excel or Access. And I rename it from time to time as well.

Yes a new Sy_ActivityLog.m4t gets created when you start MAS again.
