Is anyone familiar with the old 3.74 SQL version of MAS90? This client placed a 911 call to us, stating that their server 2003 and SQL 2005 install are becoming extremely unstable. Short term fix would be to move the Sage databases to another server that's stable and has a clean SQL install. I'm familiar with the current Premium version of Sage 100, but have never worked with the older SQL version. Does it have a SQL utility that I could run to let the clients know that the databases are now on another server? Does it use MAS_User and MAS_Reports accounts? Any helpful suggestions appreciated.

No idea on the 3.74 care and feeding. IIRC, Sage had 100 or fewer 3.7 SQL installs so there may not be a surplus of skills at keeping that older version running. If they move from 3.74 to 2018 SQL don't they need to first migrate to non-SQL? If so, does it make sense to take that step first and migrate them down to Standard or Advanced - or is there so much data that making that type of move is out of the question?

We're taking some steps tonight to try and stabilize the server but I have my doubts on whether or not we'll be successful. If they do decide to upgrade, then yes, I would have to take them to 3.71 ProvideX, before continuing with any other steps. I believe this client is in the process of selling its business, so I doubt that they'll want to spend much money on upgrades.
