Is anyone else irritated that when customers switch to Sage 100c, Sage changes their renewal date earlier? For example, customer current plan expires 12/27/16, but they send in the paperwork to switch to 100c on 12/5/16. Their next renewal date becomes 12/05/2017 and they lose 22 days of maintenance. Seems like Sage is double dipping!

I stopped fighting that fight some time ago. The other one I enjoy is when Sage takes back the commission they gave you for perpetual because the user decided to downgrade and go 100c so you ultimately owe Sage.... Unless absolutely necessary and greatly to the EU benefit I don't do any 100c conversions except on their anniversary data.

Yes, very irritated. Another way they've found to screw people over.

And I now have Payroll renewals that aren't the same date as the rest of the product.

They should be including a credit for those 22 days on the quote. Whole new team doing quotes, review them carefully.

Agreed that they should be getting a credit. You have to make sure the team knows the client is expecting and looking for it.

LOL. The people at Sage are deer in the headlights. Don't dare question their superiority to you or you'll never get another reply from them. Source: Happened to me multiple (multiple) times.

And this whole payroll is so ill conceived and thought out that based upon this poor implementation (and the other areas in NA with poor implementation) I think Sage was right to wish Scheipe well and I think they should be wholesale cleaning the EVP ranks (which I believe they will). This is such basic workflow 101 and clearly nobody in NA presently has the skills to do any strategic planning. So we have customers completely confused about why they are paying two bills for maintenance (payroll and Sage 100) when Sage could have just collected the money from the partners. I do not see any pretty resolution to this huge continuing strategic blunder in NA.

The goal at Sage: make the quote so confusing and the math so obtuse that there is no way you know if Sage buried a credit in there or how they even computed the quote.

Within 2 months of maintenance renewal there are no prorated credits when upgrading to 100c. Reminds me of rounding and skimming the pennies at banks.
