Is anyone else getting calls from ACCOUNTMATE stating that they are working with the 90 Minds group and thought I would be interested in it ? 90 Minds has nothing to do with ACCOUNTMATE right?

Not that I'm aware of.

I got a message yesterday with the same intro. I wonder if they mined the web site for the information.

I just got a voice mail from Janet that she got my info from the 90 minds web site and ""some of the other consultants are looking at AccountMate

Yes, Janet has been calling both Amy and me.

Lots of weasels (small active predatory mammals) out there. Last week a Sage channel partner from Irvine, CA called one of my customers and asked to talk to the person in charge of the accounting software. It so happened I was onsite at the time and the call was transferred to me. Very interesting discussion. I could not get a straight answer how a channel partner in CA was calling a Sage 100 end user in Minnesota.

Probably happens all the time (distance is not a concern). I'm sure we all have clients thousands of miles from our offices. Hope you asked for a fixed fee quote.

Just got that v-mail from Accountmate as well. They must be calling everyone on the list.

Ok so then I think @JeffSchwenk thoughts is the right one. They got our names from the web site. Thanks I'm glad I not the only one getting bothered by them.

Yes, even I got Janet's call. Same script that Phil described. Not interested. Coincidentally we are in the midst of moving an AccountMate customer to Sage 100.

Having your name and email available is great for prospects who need to get in touch with you. Unfortunately you have to wade through all these *%&! salespeople who skim your site and call. It's why I rarely answer the phone unless I recognize the phone #. I do not need to spend 30 minutes shooting the shit about some product I have no interest in.

To her credit, she introduced herself, asked if I was interested, and when I said, ""not now"" she let me go. IMO a respectful prospecting call. I hate the ones that start up asking ""How are you?"" Huh? they don't give a rat's patoot how I am. Get on with it. Identify who you are with and what you want. Then see if I can be interested in the qualifying questions. Janet was OK.

if they are getting the informaton from the web site, then only the full members will be targeted. OASIS folks don't have the exposure on the 90Minds site.

We should put up some bogus names - then we could catch the people making sales calls off the list...

Got it also. I agree with @JerryNorman, it was actually respectful. If we decide to go with bogus names, I choose Phil McCracken.

Janet admitted in her voicemail she got the names from the web site...I would think having an actual prospect try to contact a phony name would be worse than the occasional publisher making a nuisance of themselves.

I feel left out or my scanning process has worked great!!! No call from Janet for me.
