    Is anyone else experiencing extreme slowness when opening Crystal Reports 2016 - either directly or by trying to open a report? TIA.

    No, but wasn't there an issue a version or two ago where if ""check for updates"" was selected that it opened really slowly?

    Yes, @WayneSchulz, although I don't think that specific option is present on the Help menu in Crystal 2016.

    I did a quick Google and it looked like a couple other people reported similar issues and that it might have been tied to the OS settings.

    I've seen it too and went looking for the ""check for updates"" first thing. It seems all I'm hearing about is performance issues lately.

    Check the Event Viewer (Windows) to see if there are any logged events when starting CR? Also, I remember a particularly secure customer server had internet options locked down, and I had to click through about a dozen script errors each time I opened CR, because of the web-based Start Page.

    If the problem turns out to be specific to opening any RPT, I had the same problem during the JC experience. The printer each RPT is specifically embedded with is: ""HP LaserJet 5"" That is the Sage 100 Engineering standard. Find and install exactly that printer driver. It doesn't have to be the default and you don't have to print to it, just needs to be installed.

    This seems to be resolved in Crystal 2020.  Or it could be my imagination.  I would appreciate other thoughts.
