Is an end user allowed to move from one platform to another on Sage 100c after they have made their initial migration (without paying added $)? Example, customer renews to Sage 100c Standard. In 8 months they decide they'd rather go to Advanced. Is there a fee for this change?

Yes, that is my understanding. I'm sure the sales department needs something in writing, I believe.

That is true. We've moved several customers to SQL at no additional charge after they moved to 100c

Yes. I feel it is a big selling point, and have told Sage marketing this should not change, because the number of customers who take advantage of this is small.

The Advance keys work with Standard as well so I always request the upgrade when they move to c

@JeffSchwenk Do the Advanced keys work with Standard in 100 ( not C ) also?

Didn't realize this about the advanced keys. Good to know. We have migrated several clients to either Advanced or Premium through this.

@DougHiggs - I have been told that by multiple people.

Thanks. That can come in handy when the client has Advanced and you need to create a temporary installation to test modifications.

@DougHiggs In those situations, I just make a copy of the production copy and run in MAS 90 mode. Works without issue for me.

That's what I usually do too. I always wonder about issues related to Sage 100 dlls registering when you just copy and don;t install.

so is that also true if a customer is NOT on ""c"" version? Can they move from Standard to SQL at no charge?

As far as I know there is still a huge upcharge to change platforms on Sage 100 (not c)

on C there is no charge to move platforms; not on C still large migration fee. If customers on C do change, note that they will receive a cancellation notice and then an email with new keys.

@MelissaSecody - It has been my experience that they receive NUMEROUS emails from Sage, all of which are very confusing leaving them in a state of panic when they read that their plan has been cancelled.
