I have a client that generates 87 work tickets for a single finished good, with BOMs running about 8 levels deep. They're looking for a solution when a raw material-say at level 5-is going to be delayed.

In my testing with IRP, if I change the PO required date for that raw material to be two months later and then regenerate IRP, the system suggests I pull in the PO. However, it does not recommend rescheduling the impacted work ticket (or the lower-level WTs tied to it).

I'm working on a custom report to handle this, but I'm having trouble getting it to return the results I need.

Has anyone run into this scenario before, and if so, what solution did you implement?

Without attempting any testing, I would be surprised if PM and IRP have that type of interaction and sophistication. I have enough challenges working with the interactions of OM functions - CEM, scheduling, and material constraints. For OM there is code, but we don't have enough documentation to determine what it may be doing.

No, I have not run into this scenario specifically.

OM handles material constraint scheduling. It blows through subassemblies too. It is documented in the OM manual how that works.

sorry to be brief. Responding from my phone.
